Not sure if my fingers have gone fat but since the z10 last update, the "send" icon is too close to the bottom right. I end up sending texts especially the longer ones prematurely.When I want to scroll up or down, the "send" gets pressed unintentionally.

You can turn that send key off, go into the Hub hit the 3 dots at the bottom left, select settings, select text messages, turn off use enter key to send.

That's not the point. Some of us still want the separate send button so that we can use the enter key as a hard return in a text.

Way back when BlackBerry finally added the send button in 10.1, it used to be at the top of the screen, way out of the way from accidental hits.

Then they moved it to the bottom of the text screen right above the keyboard in 10.2, and I've had a few premature sends as well. I'm more careful now, especially in 10.3.1 where the whole text app is really crowded with a tiny text box to start with that is actually in the action bar now making even after-the-fact edits harder. It's much easier to hit the wrong button now even when simply trying to flick a suggested word that happens at the top row of the virtual keyboard.

I've made many suggestions at the beta zone and support site about this.

They probably won't listen to me, but I've made my displeasure about it known.

Maybe, the send button was added in 10.2, and moved to the action bar in 10.2.1 - I can't really remember now - but either way, the initial layout of the whole text app was much better with its early iteration and first appearance of the send button. It's just a mess now.

Thank you very much. Didn't know this option existed. Have switched off the enter button for now.

And yes I also miss the original layout.

I've noticed the same issue. Didn't notice any visible change in the keyboard but do find myself constantly sending texts prematurely
