    I purchased a used BlackBerry Curve and it still has the previous owner's Blackberry ID attached to it. I went online and created a new BB Id for myself using my email address, but how do I clear out the old id? I did read that I would have to do a wipe of the phone, but will the stuff I have saved to my sim card be ok if I have to do that? Or will I lose everything? If I were to hook it up to my laptop, could I back everything up to the computer and if so how do I do that? Please help!! I really am lost trying to do all this myself.

    SIM card data will not be affected by a device wipe

    To back up a legacy device like the Curve, install BlackBerry Desktop Manager on a PC. Plug in the phone and follow the instructions.
