    Hello,

My passport arrived a few hours ago. It is currently plugged-in to charge, and I am at the office, with my current Q10.

When I get home tonight, I plan to swap devices. Is it the same as when doing Q10 to Q10 which I've done a few times, or are there any special tips/advice to follow?

Really excited - hope I get the same happy #Passport experience that so many of you have.

I'm on EE here in the UK, and the phone is unlocked/sim free.

Congrats! It's an awesome device, I went from Q10 to Z30 to Passport. If you can start fresh with the switch it'd be preferable. If you use Link to transfer, make sure the Passport has the same or a higher OS version than the Q10, otherwise it won't allow you to restore. And make sure to tick off the Android Runtime in the Link backup file.

    Enjoy your new awesome device!

You'll also need to swap your micro SIM from the Q10 to a Nano SIM for the Passport. You'll love the bigger screen and how fluid the OS is compared to the Q10. The keyboard will take some time to get accustomed to so you'll need to be patient and forget that you're a speed demon with the Q10!

    Congrats!

Make sure to get a nano sim before stores close if you haven't already.

The keyboard will take some time to adjust to but once you do it'll be a joy to bang out messages. I love the satisfying click of the big keys and the touch-enabled feature.

Passport is like having the power of a mini laptop in my hands. Wide screen and it's big touch enabled keyboard really is unique and a special experience. Perfect for BlackBerry types who aren't afraid of learning how to use new technology and appreciate 'get it done' functionality.

You are gonna enjoy your Passport!

Thank you. I will go to an EE store later and get a nano SIM. I'd forgotten that.

Just got my second passport too. Went to the at&t store for it and they did the sim swap for me from my Z30.

At first I was planning on giving it to my dad but now... oh well, I think he'll appreciate the classic more. Haha!

Battery life is excellent. Stop worrying. I have yet to even get less than 25% at like 1030pm after a day of heavy use. It's a beast.

Got the Passport very quickly last year when it came out, changed from a Q10, much better for my aging eagle eyes . Till this day I love this mini Hulk. Today someone asked me if it was a smartphone or a tablet, lol.

What are you doing? If you are entering many different email accounts and syncing I suggest leaving it on WiFi and let it do its thing plugged in. Leave like that until you see that the process of done. Device manager should give you an idea on when it subsides.

You could just print out a template and cut a micro SIM down to nano size..

Enjoy your passport, give it time to settle in. You have to do at least three full charges before the Battery settles.

So far, from 23:00 last: night (before that it was my Q10). Does this look generally okay thus far? On 75% from being unplugged four hours ago.

Enjoy!!! Best phone hands down! Went from Q10 / iphone 5 / Z30 to Passport last September (launch date).. no regrets!! Takes a few days to get used to it and to appreciate all the capabilities...

And with new releases it just gets even more awesome!
I hear upcoming OS 10.3.2.500 (in beta now) is even more amazing in many ways!!!

    Enjoy!!!

75% after 4hrs? Seems better already then but it is true that the settling in lasts a day or so. I normally hit 75% at 4pm.

I made my first commute with the passport today..treated it the same as I would my HTC, music, email, texts, signal dropping and having to be found due to train line etc and it's still sat at 52%.. I forgot my charger for the HTC late last week and it died just after 4pm...

    The passport is a beast

You will enjoy it. Give it a few days to get used to the new experience, the different size. Like all new things, don't compare it with the old and give yourself the time to learn and get used to the Passport.

This is weird, but I wish I could go back to the day I got my Passport and opened the box for the first time. That initial impression of "This is a weird HUGE phone"

Now it just looks normal to me.

Yes, you'll likely see improvements in battery performance over time. Of course, it depends a lot on what you do with the device. We're all different so battery life can vary.
