I have got a STL 100-4 device, I am using it in India.
The 10.3 update does not show-up on my device.
What needs to be done to get 10.3 on my device?

Do it yourself (autoloader or Sachesi), or wait three thousand years for Verizon to push out 10.3 to all STL100-4s in the world. The first option is better.

Yup. The lack of an update has nothing to do with your current location. Verizon has not released any 10.3.1.xxxx OS's for either the Z10 or Z30.

    Verizon being Verizon.

How'd you end up with a Verizon phone in India, anyway?

the indian market is flooded with imported devices.
BlackBerry only launched the STL-100/1 for india, which didn't have the 4G band. The STL-100/1 were expensive.
I think some importers got a huge consignment of refurbished phone, which were quiet cheap, around $200.

The 100-4 seems to be cheaper because it is primarily used for a CDMA carrier, though the unlocked GSM side does make it ok for some GSM carriers.

It is pretty handy. I use CDMA, in the States, and GSM in Europe.

I did the exact same thing a few weeks back and have been pleased. Android apps run much smoother, the ability to have more than one page of icons in each folder, better battery life, camera improvements, and overall quickness of the build make it the best I've had on my Z10 yet. I used Sachesi for the first time, so I wouldn't have to borrow a PC, and it was a breeze.

I live in upstate New York And Verizon is my carrier. Using Sachesi, I just updated my Z10 to 10.3.1.2726. In a word...unbelievable.

On the CrackBerry forums, there are a few very good sets of instructions on how to do this. After finding a set I was comfortable with using the nondestructive Sachesi method, I updated.

I'm now running Android apps from the Amazon app store. Battery life is better and the phone reception seems to be better also.

Verizon has zero love for BlackBerry phones. I went to two different stores a few months ago when I was eligible for an upgrade and the sales staff in both stores weren't interested in helping me get a Z10. I was finally told to go home and order it online which I did and set it up myself. I was upgrading from a Q10 which I had for two years. At least when I got the Q10, they ordered it for me and I picked it up from the store.

Don't expect the 10.3 update to be rolled out by Verizon anytime soon. For whatever reason, they're not interested in BlackBerry customers or devices. Unless their policy changes in regard to BlackBerry, for my next upgrade, I may be moving to a different carrier.

None of the US carriers give a $h!t about BlackBerry at this time. Unless that changes, switching carriers should be for other reasons (coverage, cost, etc).

Got my 100-4 yesterday and loaded 10.3.1.1779 with no problem with sachesi and vodafone uk codes. Everything works great including cobalts play store and google maps. Its handy that the 100-4 takes the same os as 100-2 and 100-3. 4G works great in Greece.

I've used Sachesi before, but this time I've been holding back due to all the bugs I've read about with 10.3.1... I'm on Verizon (Z10STL100-4/10.2.1.3253) and I use a ton of apps... at least 75? Not games. And I'm a power user. Have the issues been overblown ? I don't expect Verizon to update the Z10 until 10.3.2... and I was beginning to think maybe that was smart if there are lots if issues... someone either tell me to wait or convince me it's ok to move forward? :-)

I can't tell you what to do and I don't know why some folks have run into what appear to be real bugs. I've upgraded on my Verzion z30 and have not really run into any issues. I use my share of Android apps or BB-android apps from BB World.

    I've got:

    Software Release 10.3.1.1784
    OS Version 10.3.1.2582

I used this thread to walk me through the process: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...update-957892/

It is pretty self explanatory, but I did mine from the US so I don't know if your country selection matter. The OS Sachesi gave me was actually a Canadian carrier Rogers official build. I had to delete the rogers bloatware apps but it is the same with Verizon crappy bloatware apps.

Hey man, it is totally your call on whether to load a new build or not. Most of the issues I was seeing were with the Z30 so that gave me a bit more confidence in making my decision. I did however, do a full backup before doing anything, just in case I had a major bug. This way I could reset the phone to factory settings, then upgrade back up to the latest Verizon build of 10.2.1 if it was bad enough.
