    I've just encountered a strange bug. I'm on the Classic using the stock 10.3.1.2243 OS, and if the signal is bad I'm quite literally unable to save contacts and the app itself freezes. Contacts are supposed to be added locally and on Gmail.

    The only way out is closing the contacts app. When adding the contact from the Hub the only way is to either get better signal or reboot.

    Anyone else getting this?

    Maybe you should uncheck gmail sync and add them only on your phone memory. Then, when you'll get better signal or wifi, sync them with gmail.
