I just received Q10 through groupon. I can't add contacts to it though. I save them and my contacts tab is still blank. Also I've tried to transfer my info from my bold to the Q10 and for some reason when I plug in the Q10 to finish the switch, it doesn't find my Q10 (the picture doesn't come up like it should). Any suggestions??? (disclaimer: I don't know if this matters but on the keypad next to the english letters are arabic letters)Thanks in advance for the help!

Is your Q10 brand new? Or refurbished or second hand?

If there is the slightest chance that it is not brand new, I suggest that you do a security wipe, and then connect the Q10 to your PC, and then see if the Q10 is recognised.

When I did a device switch (9900 to Q10) it took a long time, but was pretty simple...

Silly question: you are using BlackBerry Link? (not the old BlackBerry desktop software?).

It's supposed to be brand new. At first I was using the old desktop, but I have installed Link and it's still not working. For a swipe, do I need to take the simcard out?

It's supposed to be brand new. Yes I did try blackberry link and it's still not working. With the security wipe, do I need to take out the simcard?

I don't know if a security wipe zaps a sim card too - so, just in case, I'd remove the sim card first.....

Also - have you done multiple power cycles and a hard reset on the phone yet? This sometimes helps....

    Good luck

wipe dont remove contacts from sim , but when add contacts tab on top say "Save to local contacts ,Gmail" press on it and you get options : Local , SIM , Gmail !
i think SIM is unchecked by default !

Thanks for the idea! The wipe worked (for the contacts). The switch is still not working. I'll just have to individually add my contacts, lol.

Thanks! I didn't see that 'save to local contacts' option. Along with the wipe, this has helped!!!
