Have you ever seen these random "Account Info Needed" notifications?



Well in that case, you have an issue on your device. The issue at hand affects AccountService and is related to applications by 3rd party developers not doing Hub integration a very good or careful way.
In case of backup/restore or unpredictable app deletion, a residual account entry is left behind.
I was annoyed by the notifications so I made a little but very dangerous utility.

I'm serious. Do not build and use this lightly or for the fun of it. At least not until it's made idiotproof and released on BlackBerry World. If that ever happens.
I made a solution for my problem, hopefully it will help someone else.
The reason there is no BAR file is that it uses a restricted permission not yet granted to me.

Please read the README file. I will not be held responsible if you mess up but I'll gladly help if I can.

Thanks buddy. I resolved my VERY ANNOYING account info needed through multiple backups and selective restoration. Even now I'm not 100% sure of why it eventually worked. An application like you are working on is sorely needed. Well done.

The first screenshot of multi twittly accounts is mine and thanks to knob, I deleted those. As notifications only once in 24h, I'll be able to check if it worked only tomorrow.

So, let me ask my question - I would have to download and in some fashion compile this to create a bar file that I can use.

At the moment, I daily get two such notices. One from a gmail account and the other suggesting that my password for my desktop computer is not correct (and to look in BBLink for the setting/change). I've removed/re-added that gmail account - does not fix. But I get email from that account regularly and without problem, so I don't know what it wants!

And I have no idea what password for my desktop computer needs fixing. I've been in BBLink and Blend and neither has a clue to what needs fixing.

Same for BBLINK (probably conflict on backup / restore). Select that one and press Update.

You need to compile it from source yourself.

Meanwhile, I updated some code in the repository and created a useless benevolent BAR file just to get it released on BlackBerry World.
Once it's released and approved I can create an updated BAR and request the restricted permission sorely needed for this app to work.
Cross your fingers all goes well as planned.

Okay, how hard is it to compile this? Special tools in addition to downloading your files?

Nothing special. You need standard QNX Momentics from BlackBerry and 10.3.1 API downloaded.
Connect your device via USB in Development mode, create a new debug token via GUI and good to go.

You might wanna be patient for a little bit, I submitted it for review to BlackBerry World.
