I got this pic from a guy who works at T-Mobile Germany and you can clearly see that the 9020 and 9700 are different devices, and not, as expected, one and the same.
Furthermore it says that the 9700 is scheduled to calender week 44/45, the 9020 to 45/46...

Different devices and on same carrier? They must differ much more then just the UMA feature that everyone is assuming is the difference b/n Onyx and Driftwood

I love the look of the new BOLD. I will have to start looking to see if they are listing the differences and if they are going to carry both. Thanks for posting this!

Ok, that was a huge curve ball. I thought the 9020 was changed to the 9700. So, is the 9020 the version with a trackball and the 9700 with the trackpad? There has to be more difference than that?

    Lol.....so interesting.

I'm thinking 9020 is the TMO device with UNA and the 9700 is the ATT/Rogers/whomever else that is GSM and doesn't use UMA.

Differences have to be much more than that! Look at the difference in model numbers... RIM needs to seriously start fresh with their device names/model numbers because it is starting to get crazy.

I prefer saying the Device model numbers than the names/code names. IMO it sounds cooler
