    I have read a few threads saying the Whatsapp apk works on bb10. But I've downloaded the Whatsapp from play store but the it's stuck at the "looking for backup ".
    Those who've gotten it working how did you get past that screen or which version did you install?

    At the moment the BB10 version works, and as of December 31, Whatsapp isn't just saying that you won't be able to use the BB10 version, they are saying that "you won't be able to use Wharsapp on this phone as Whatsapp will no longer support it. I take that to mean that Whatsapp will no longer work on my BB10 phone, period.

    I don't think so. As far as I know using the apk Whatsapp themselves couldn't tell it's on bb10 vs any android 4.3 device.

    same issue. Which .apk version of Whatsapp works in the moment?
    Playstore version hang at "looking for backup"...
    Patched Play Services version broke down after whatsapp told me "there is something wrong with this whatsapp version"...

    There told some guys apk WA works but i can't get it to run right now...

    Hopefully after 31 Dec there is a running solution....

    Latest versions of WhatsApp work just fine.
    When it shows an Error message for lack of Google Play Services, tap somewhere outside the dialog box. And don't tap on "Okay" or something like that on the box itself.
    Then, when asked for Google Drive Backup, set it to "Never".

    Hey upload a latest version from play store or apk file.
    Install waa fixer in bb 10 device by assistance of some you tube video.
    Open whatsapp it will show that your app relies of Google play store. Restart ur phone twice r thrice if still continues open ur app and close it again and again. Whatsap screen will load finally.

    Some problems right there notification not proper, you can't access media expect your camera files. You can keep the status but only from the camera files .If u r not seeing any options just re size the app by swiping from the top.
    U can do voice and vid calls as well.
