I'm leaning toward getting the Priv ,partially for the quick security updates. Once BlackBerry pushes out the update, is Rogers fairly quick to push it out as well? Not sure if I want to buy through Rogers or Amazon/BB.

It's usually a week later for the Canadian carriers.

Buying factory unlocked, you get a different variant, plus wireless charging (if that matters) and faster updates.

Buying from a carrier is less of a hit to your wallet, though.

They seem to be getting slower and slower with the updates. August was released by Telus and Rogers on the 18th or 1 9th.
    Not happy.

A Rogers PRIV user here, sometimes the updates are released same day (has happened once since I got my PRIV in June 2016) but often they show up in last week of the month, and have at times completely skipped a month (has happened 2 times since June 2016), really unimpressed with the Rogers support for pushing OS security updates, wish I had got mine direct from BlackBerry

*also a side note* the stv100-3 you get from Rogers does not have the qi charger coil in the back, you need a stv100-1 to get that or you would need to change your rear backing (which would also void warranty I believe)

Coming back to this thread. Looks like Rogers isn't always up to date as quickly. Considering getting the KEYone on contract for my daughter. We will see what the initial unlocked offerings are first as sometimes they have bundle deals.

Good to know. Looks I'll be buying KEYone directly from BBMobile then.
