Sitting in the middle of vegas and it is locked onto att towers telling me emergency service only. What's up with that? (shopblackberry.com passport on 10.3.3.1435).

In a building. When I first got to the room it had 2-3 bars of 4g. Then the call I was on failed, it switched to att towers and I have no service.

If it wasn't for the hotel wifi and bbm voice I would be dead in the water.

I called tech support. They sent some sort of a signal to the phone and asked me to restart it. It's working now. Strange.

Stopped working again. Went to the tmobile store, they swapped out my sim and that didn't solve the problem.

I get that also with my Z30 thru tmobile. It works for me if I turn off my phone and then back on and all is good. Does not happen every day, just a few times.

There are a couple of threads on this on the passport forum. Apparently it is a passport issue but I am not clear if this is a 10.3.3 issue or a handset or hardware issue.

A general problem with my z10 is when it goes to the emergency tower, it just sticks there. I suppose that is a battery saving feature since looking for a tmo tower will use more power.

I've had a lot of luck in Vegas. Er not gambling, which I don't do. But rather phone service. I tend to stay in the smaller hotels off the strip, so I think the phone gets more open space. That is, less stuff between me and the tower.
