ok so what do you class as new ?
I imagine whatever the current hardware version or build is that they are using in their own promotional information for the PRIV.

This was an earlier prototype - very different from what will be released. So it's OLD - which explains the slapped to gather look in these pictures.

The camera will def be "new" in my eyes because it's better than the current ones in blackberry phones and def better than the camera in the new iPhones that just came out. No need for a ridiculous amount of Ram that you will never use..so what exactly are you looking for in "new specs"?

I agree I think the specs are good

How do you know the camera is better than the new iPhone? Because it has more megapixels? Lol

Take the HTC one m8 as an example, dual 4 mp camera but it shoots great photos

For what it's worth i was very fortunate to see this phone in the wild and even got to hold it. It's absolutely stunning in person, the screen is beautiful. It was a test unit with serial numbers on it but was told it pretty much is final hardware. I was a fan of this phone via pictures and rumours but now that I've seen it in person I think it's going to be a hit. It looks like a premium phone, and in my opinion it looks better than any phone currently out in the market.

The Priv doesn't look too bad. I think it's starting to grow on me. I'll still wait for the reviews and a price drop before I think about getting it.
You can grow Privs on you? That's awesome, you won't even have to pay for yours and depending on how many you can grow, you might be able to make some extra cash by selling the rest! I wish I could grow phones on me. That would be awesome! I'm so jealous. Let me know when it is time to harvest, I will buy one. Organic?

Just to make things clear about the hardware shown here being old
There is apparently two versions of Priv out there (which I will call v1 and V2)
    Based on the previous leaks
V1 has Fast Focus 18MP OIS written around the rear camera lens
V2 has 18Mega Pixels Schneider Kreuznach written around the lens
And the pics shown here has Fast Focus written on it so it is V1 = old hardware

BlackBerry Priv a mobile PRIVilege for your PRIVacy

What's up with the light bleed on the side of the screen?

    Attachment 375085
Does it have IPS? My monitor bleeds the same way but its only noticeable if I look for it...

It's AMOLED, can't have light leaks because has no backlight...

Hopefully not amoled screen. Can't see those too well in the sunlight. Have a note 2 couldn't see it outside daytime sun but I now use a passport and it shines bright in the sun! Just my observation.

It's a samsung amoled, and latest samsung amoleds are brighter than phones like the iphones, HTCs, LG G4, etc in bright sunlight

But, if the price is.. let's say 600$ with installment payment it'll be around 1000 1200 or even more.

In the UK, if you buy the phone upfront you pay more in many cases. The cash price for the Passport was 529 at launch and I got it for 8 a month over 2 years from CPW (at launch). Also, if you go to O2.co.uk and have a look at their refresh plans, quite often you pay a lot less with them if you don't buy the phone outright. Weird, but good lol.

Even if you payed more, they're giving you something in exchange, but if you buy it that way from BlackBerry you'll be paying more with nothing in exchange

Installment plans generally provide a way to split the purchase cost into several payments at minimal additional cost.

It's less than 7.6 mm thick. Thinner than Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
That would be nice, but elsewhere it's shown as 9.4mm thick, which is about the same as my Z10... ??
