Default Newest 8310 OS: v4.5.0.108 (MultiLanguage)

From Telefonica; This will load on any carrier's 8310 model by following the instructions below.

This version is Multilanguage and contains English.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.150 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.5.0.150
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.108
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.89
* File name: 8310M_PBr4.5.0_rel150_PL2.7.0.89_A4.5.0.108_Telefo nica_Mexico.exe
* File size: 76.16MB

Download the OS here (choose the 8310 device and the second OS download option:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...9E92D324F56DE0

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

For install instruction to load any carrier 8310 OS on your BB:

1. Back up data on Desktop Manager under Back up/restore option
2. Back up your 3rd party apps. Instructions here--> http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...cations-53201/
3. Disconnect your BB from Desktop Manager
4. Download desired OS to your PC
5. Install/run OS to PC
6. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader if the OS is not from your carrier.
7. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
8. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

***Steps 2 is optional but recommended

****File Free/OS Memory Leak OS Version Report

*****Will keep each OS results posted as i run the OS, also i welcome others to report their results/experience(s)*****

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

thanks Garz, not liking .102 due to when going into the apps folder then going back to the home screen it either pauses or gives an hour glass, but i figured out that if i stay with the carrier them my FF stays at 30.6. DL .108 now, will post results. I really liked .99, that will be my fallback OS if i dont like .108. 20min in the download.

How about a field report? Any noticible difference between 4.5.0.99 and this one? In other words, is it worth my trouble to do the update? Other than the compulsive 'need' to have the most up-to-date OS out there. ;-)

Just loaded this.

The upgrade to my BB took a long time, in particular the "connect to" at the end of the upgrade which lasted 25-30 minutes in itself.

I have lots of apps, including Google maps, Vlingo, docs to go, worldmate live, pncbank, MaraTick, quickpull and a couple I'm probably missing here. I went from 18.4 to 20.5 in free memory.

Everything is running well, the screen seems brighter and clearer.

Most interesting is that although my BB had sufficient volume, it is as loud at 2/3 volume now as it was at full volume before.

EDIT: The phone ringer is at least as loud as as it was before. Looks like a keeper upgrade

Loading it up now. Glad I had 2 years of H.S. Spanish for the download.

I was expecting to see .110 this week from at&t but alas no dice.

.102 (beta) was a very good OS for my 8310, the only bug I experienced was a standby /mute inop. glitch that was very intermittent.

I'll report back on this one after I've had a chance to work with it.

Did the update last night and my memory got up to 25xxxxxx, but maybe because I always remove the PTT app and the AT&T theme I never use. One thing I do notice is that memory goes down, but not as much and if I leave my phone alone for maybe a couple hours or so my memory goes up. For example, last night I had 25xxxxxx and I checked it again after browsing the web, messaging a couple people, checking facebook app, and it was down to 24xxxxxx. This morning it was back up to 25xxxxxx. I don't remember .99 doing this because I had to restart my phone at least once a week because my memory would decrease overtime.

You can find the vendor file @ C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader

Also try to unhide your system files and search for it.. you can do that by going to the above folder and in the folder menu select Tools\ Folder Options\ View tab\ Hidden file folders\ "Enable" Show hidden files and folders..... Now you should be able to see the hidden system files.........

since i got by beautiful BB it has not froze where i had to perform a soft reset. Today shortly after the 24hr mark on running .108 it froze twice, once when it was locked and i got a VM, the prompt came up and it wouldnt let me choose OK or Save sooo i did a SftRst. Second time shortly after that reset i called my VM, hung, made another call for about 5-7min and when i choose to disconnect it just kept the connected on the screen like i was talking, but the timer stayed the same and when i went to try the menu etc... i had to do another reset, i have never ever had this happen with any other OS, my fav OS at the moment is .99. Testing .110 now.
