Default [Western Canada] BIS outage; or carrier data outage
Woke up the morning and noticed my weather wallpaper hadn't updated and I had no new messages. Went to check twitter and I have no connection to the internet.

Full signal bars and H+, all radios are on. Battery pull was ineffective.

I called Telus and got the usual advice from the service rep to pull the battery, and then was transfered to a network technician. He checked the service bulletins and told me there is a report of service outages for Blackberry users trying to access the internet in Alberta and British Columbia.

He had no information on cause, whether this is a BIS failure or a network failure; or even whether it is a multi-carrier problem or limited to Telus.

Anyone else lose their data connection this morning?

I just checked my email on Outlook; I have three messages which came in at 9:15pm last night, 4:00am this morning and one from the Crackberry store at 7am this morning.

None of them reached my phone so this problem has been continuous since at least 9:15pm last night (for me anyway).

I'm on Telus (also in Alberta)..and haven't had any data issues with my Gnex. So it's not Telus's towers..

Data came back on at 7:40am. I suspect this must have been limited to Telus and maybe only certain areas, otherwise there would have been all sorts of posts this morning.

Well, its something out west.

I am in quebec and My BBM social works, with out wifi on.

Sounds like something over there is being evil!
So its just telus sounding over there if anything, I would ask my aunt but I can not reach her because of the outage

DUUU I can text her and ask!

Email/BBM appears to be working, but Browser, Facebook, Twitter, etc all seem to be down.
