VZW BIS Problem?

Anybody else with VZW having issues getting their Gmail emails on their Blackberry's? The problem started about two hours ago for me. Some emails are coming through while others aren't. I resent service books and that hasn't made any difference.

I'm on SPRINT and my gmail email is very delayed. I'm also not able to make any calls!!

BBM and data not working for me in Boston, Ma. Not even Opera works either. Usually does though.

I've been dealing with Gmail problems since mid-August. VZW gave me a new S2 yesterday because they ran out of things to try that would fix it.

BIS is out in Michigan. Right as I was doing the update too lol.

I don't think it is restricted to Verizon, I am on AT&T in Washington, DC and having BIS issues too.

It looks like the BIS websites won't load.

Just got off the phone with AT&T data support.

The agent confirmed that BIS is down and that it is expected to be back up around 8:00 AM EDT.

Interesting how Verizon and AT&T's BIS websites are redirecting to T-Mobile.

You know what, I've been having the same problem since the same time, before that, it worked, flawlessly for over 6 months.

It's getting to the point now where my gmail is totally erratic. Did the storm2 fix it?

Also, my googletalk IM's are also getting very delayed sometimes.

Anyone else having service degradation problems with verizon BIS??

So far so good, but everything else we've tried worked for X time and then became problematic again.

Yeah, the last 2 days have been pretty bad with gmail. This afternoon has seen quite a few gmails taking a very long time to arrive.

Thanks for the reply. Dealing with verizon tech support makes me rage, but the prospect of, possibly, being able to get a storm 2 for my troubles, makes me consider it.

Another question though, before you returned your storm1, did you have the official verizon OS .328? or did you have something newer on it?

And mine's been filling up almost as fast as I answer them, for once. Not complaining.

Replaced Storm2 with a Storm2.

For the last few days, my Gmail is coming through quite slowly, with delays from 10 minutes to an hour. Yahoo, for once, is working fine.

I've never had problems with Gmail before.

FYI for jwarnoc and others: I currently have a ticket open with RIM on the issue of poor gmail and bis performance.

I got past the lower levels of tech support, and am now working with an analyst who has already escalated the issue to the network team. Supposedly they told me that the issue seems to be related to google, in that their notification system is not sending proper notifications to rim about email delivery.

I hope this is resolved soon. But, I have a sinking feeling that google might not care so much about giving blackberry users the same level of service as android.....

Hello everyone.

I've been called RIM once each day on Monday and today. Both times they have assured me that their network operations team and upper level techs are investigating the issue.

I plan on calling every day until I get a resolution on this issue: I'm not waiting for them to call me back (which they keep saying they will do.)

Others MUST be having similar problems!!! Where's the public outrage???

Agreed! This is getting very annoying and is unsatisfactory! It's been going on for too long. My problem is with Gmail delays on BIS. Sometimes I get emails instantly, sometimes an email is delayed by several minutes or up to an hour and other times I'll get an email instantly with several other delayed emails seemingly tagging along and being received at the same time as the instant email.

Any word from RIM or Google or VZW?
