poor service after buying unlocked phone

I'm just wondering if there is something in the phone that needs to be changed or if there is something I can do. I'm with telus here in ontario, canada and I had fairly good service with my bold 9700 but it took a dive and decided to buy an unlocked 9780 previously on bell and I have found that my reception is terrible now. I pick up telus no problem but seems that it easily drops calls or just doesn't have any reception at all in areas that I never had a problem with before. Its very irritating. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

i would say try to install the most updated OS and then try it. it worked for my 9700 when i unlocked it.

I've just come to realize this unlocked bold I have has had the body changed, all black again but with a carbon fiber battery door. Is it possible the internal antenna got moved around while changing the panels causing the poor or no reception in certain cases (wife has same provider and phone and I can be sos and she can have 4 bars of service sitting next to each other).

I've also reloaded OS6 hoping to solve my white screen issue and it didn't help with the reception issue
