BBM Outage in NYC area on VZW - Oct 12th

Is anyone having a problem communicating on BBM? Im using 9930 on VZW. Nothing else seems to be effected. I was sending messages up to 7:00AM but nothing after.

Called Verizon and they said they have a alert open in NYC area. Strange that it only BBM does not work, everything else is fine. Any ideas? I am running new 7.0.0.362 on 9930. Do not know if that is a issue.

They have shut down BBM and Browsing services (stated by T-Mo in UK at least) in order to cope with the backlog of roughly 3 days BIS outage in Europe, Middle East and Africa. They are trying to get the backlog out of the way before they start up browsing and BBM again.

Now we can only guess whether they have shut it down in US areas as well to clear the backlog in EMEA faster, or if it is a first sign of outage in US as well

I am on TMO in Brooklyn and my kid mentioned that his BBMs aren't going through. I just tested and it went through.

Verizon confirmed a nationwide BlackBerry outage. No timeframe for resolution. Ticket # NRB4761005

Wanted to let you know what its BIS and BBM. I missed that I have not gotten email since this morning.

Just started getting emails sent last night on my BB.

Edit: looks like I spoke too soon. After getting a few emails from last night, it stopped working again.

I got 4 out of what looks like 20 emails after a reboot. Dont seem to be able to get into mail setup to send my service books. Not sure if that would help anyway.
