App World outage this morning
I tried to upgrade Poynt today. But when I went into App World on my 9780 and clicked on My World I received the following error message "device token storage exception error id 40670".
I went into My Account, Payment Options to check if my account was okay and I couldn't even log in - it said my password was incorrect. So I tried a battery pull - no joy. I then uninstalled and re-installed App World. Still no joy. Panic set in...
In desparation, I tried to reset my App World account from BlackBerry - BlackBerry ID and it all became clear.... the site was down for maintenance (I'm in the UK). So, I left it a few hours and, lo and behold, everything was back to normal.
I would have thought that RIM could have coded this better. A simple "site down for maintenance" message rather than "device token storage exception error id 40670" would have helped... And, there was nothing posted on their BlackBerry Service Update site ( BlackBerry Service Update)...
Hope this helps someone in the future. I found a couple of references to this error on the web but no solutions...
