11/9/2011 Verizon/BIS Outage
Hi folks, apologies if this is a duplicate issue, but I didn't see anything that seemed related.
I haven't had proper BIS functionality on my 9550 since 11/9/11. I can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and send and receive e-mails. But whenever I open the browser and try to go to a website, it pretends to load and then gives me a "service unavailable"' message.
I've done connection resets and battery pulls and everything else I can think of to ensure that it's not just my phone. Two of my coworkers have also been experiencing the same problem for the same period of time, while the rest have no such problems.
I've also asked Verizon about it, and they claim it's a RIM server issue that will be fixed eventually, but that's as good as no answer at all. And I haven't yet come across any alerts or relevant occurrences, so whatever it is, it's either extremely isolated or no one else experiencing it has bothered to say anything yet (or I'm just bad at searching).
I'm currently living in Napa Valley, California, if that's relevant.
Anyone have any idea what's up?
