Default Will the "Storm 2.5" be the Storm 3 and the "Storm 3' be something else?

assuming that the leaked images of the S3 and S2a are real, that means that both devices are pretty much ready to be launched.

But then it would be Yet Another attempted corporate suicide if RIM launched the S3 right after the S2.5, as people will be a tad annoyed that their shiny new S2.5 has been replaced quickly.

However the S3 is known to most likely be 4G and if that image shows it to have a bigger screen, so it would make more sense to position it as a higher-end device (aka Curve/Bold series)

Just because both of those devices are real doesn't mean they are "ready to be launched". Why would you assume that?

i didn't say "ready to launch," is said "pretty much ready to launch", which isn't precisely the same thing. and the fact that both have been leaked around the same time means that both are around the same doneness

well the storm 9570 is not what we expected to say none the less.

What would balance the disappointment is the price?

If it is priced about the same as it is now... I might get it on a 1 year contract..

But it if they give it a brand new smartphone price (either $249.99 or $199.99) then forget about it.

It shouldn't cost a lot really.. How much design and research went into doubling the ram and 5 MP?? With everything else remaining the same???

Most likely the 9570 (S2.1 or S3...) would be BOGO again to entice buyers, (let them blow their money) and around the same price as the S2. However, sadly enough I am starting to think that the 3.7" BlackBerry Will be the true S3 (or S4) and launched in the spring... Only because RIM is cool like that... Doesn't make much sense to me though but my thoughts.

For me personally its too much to ask to use an upgrade on the 9570. I would consider buying the phone outright for $100 if OS 6 proved to be stellar. However knowing Verizon that won't happen because their objective is always to lock you into a contract with them.

I don't think it would even be worth it for a storm1 user to burn an upgrade considering the s2 refresh specs are already behind the smartphones on the market.
