Default What do YOU want in a BBX phone?

    For me:
    - Large capacity battery 1800mAh-2000mAh at the very least.
    - Functionality over design, the phone has to work as a phone first and foremost. Forget thinness.
    - 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, with LED flash.
    - 9900 size and keyboard.
    - Browser supports Flash and HTML5.
    - No more truncated mail.
    - Wifi sharing.

My only issue with BB have always been download speed. I'm here downloading a 1MB app while an android/iphone user is right next to me downloading a 19MB app and they get done before me. Like seriously what is that all about??? Faster more fluent download speed and I will be complete.

And on that note, I want VZW to offer a BBX Superphone with 4G LTE. If not, I will not be getting a BBX device.

Also, enough with this thinness craze - slap in at least a 2600mah battery, or it will be worthless to me.

Bonus if it has IR - I want to control my TV/Media center with only my phone (and I hate the options already out there for this).

Also, like the Trackpad on the 9930 glows, make a band around the entire front of the phone like that which glows, and give us a command center (similar to Alienware) where we can control the color and lighting effects of it.

I agree. As we enter the LTE era for the carriers, it would be nice to have the "option" of utilizing a BA battery or carry an extra around. Granted there are exceptions, but, anytime someone post about having extraordinary battery life on any device - whether dual/single core processors, I call BS. Even with no apps, battery life is not great.

Add LTE, a 32gb microsd, and the ability to store apps on the flash memory to the phone the OP described and you would have a dream phone.

Stylus and native app similar to the Galaxy Note. Bigger screen would also be nice. More pure business native app thought.

There is no difference between form and function. RIM needs to realize this and stop making compromises between the two.

Here is a terribly photoshopped torch that I believed should be redesigned as so into the Storm 3. This is what I want RIM to start off 2012 with -

    Two form factors
9790 style only slightly taller w/ larger screen.
Slab touchscreen with same width as a 9900 but slightly taller.
Dual core processor 1.2 min but by the time they hit the market 1.5 would be better.
    2000 mah battery.
    Full email functionality.
    8MP camera.
    fwd facing camera.
    A real functioning browser.
    Micro SDXC Support.
    Full Android App support.
On the slab version I want the Swype keyboard...
USB charging support from 12v adapters...

I think that sums up my wish list....

    For the all touch screen:

    -No buttons
    -Front facing camera
    -Dual core
    -No lag, at all.
-Best battery life out of all smartphones
    -Bluetooth 4.0
-Would be awesome for the screen to take up almost all of the face of the phone, with a tiny bezel.
    -NFC
-Same glass that's in the Samsung Galaxy 2, after seeing a drop test: WOW.

    Keyboard phone:
    -No lag, at all
    -Bluetooth 4.0
-Best battery life out of all smartphones
    -NFC
    -Same glass as SG2
    -Dual core
-Touch screen that's taller then 9900
    -

Skull Candy headphones in the box with both phones(or RIM to pair up with some other company)

I'm sure I could think of more, so probably add more later.

Okay, after a few more tweaks and adding a few of you guys' specs that were great and I missed out on, here is the new draft of photoshopped torch into Storm 3D -

Vote it up, maybe RIM might get inspired by it haha.

    Dual core, MUCH bigger battery.
I'm interested in the KB version, so...
Taller screen! PLEASE! Lower the KB a little, and make the screen even larger (and the device a little taller too). The 9900 form factor, and even a little wider, too.

AUTOFOCUS CAMERA! DO YOU HEAR ME RIM!?

And an extra convenience key. I like one for the camera and I need the other for the message inbox! Arg.
Maybe a slightly larger wake button.
    1080p recording
Make the WHOLE bezel glow instead of JUST the track pad! That would look so cool! haha. And maybe depending on the type of message, part of the bezel could glow or change color or sometihng. Missed call = the whole bezel, SMS = the top, BBM = the bottom, etc etc. hehe.

If the bezel was glowing it would remind me of Tron, and that's alright

I am in the minority, but I like the condensed qwerty keyboard on the pearls.

    So I'd want:
    -pearl bbx
-dual core 1.2 ghz at least
    -lte
    -front facing camera
-a touch screen of course on the pearl screen
-full version of docs to go and pdf writer included (a bb is a productivity tool after all)

However, I wouldn't be surprised if rim drops the pearl line.

    • A non-virtual keyboard model (slider would be ideal so I can go virtual or "traditional")
    • Full access to Android apps (in the perfect world, Android would ALSO have an instagram app)
    • LTE
    • Dual core
    • Better storage for apps (i.e. being able to store apps on memory card)
    • At least 8 megapixels for camera (preferably 10+ since some Androids are already offering 12)
    • The ability to update more than one app at a time
    • Current offerings such as LED notification and the ability to customize alerts to different accounts

Can't see the pearl getting a touchscreen.

Most likely it will be a thinner Curve 9350/60/70.

Wishes never come true but i'd like...
    -1.5GHz triple-core Battery saving processor
    -dlna
-28mm f2.2 Carl Zeiss camera lens

I'll be happy with the London specs, but i hope they dont leave out the micro sd slot like the playbook.

How about unfettered access to the internet so i can get all my email and use RDM. Getting choked by the RIM servers is lame. I think Windows phone 8, the new 4G iPhone, and Android are going to bury BBX in the dung heap of fail. It's the answer to a question fewer and fewer people are asking, and it will live in 2 year old hardware. meh.

i want the one like torch model, but with the bigger size screen+keypad.
-much improvement in battery and higher capacity(dakota JM-1 is really crap)
    -slimmer than existing model
    -mobile hotspot
-i don't really need NFC or LTE, because in my country the carriers don't really support, and to minimal the battery drain
-HTML5 and higher performance of native browser
-same support to CDMA Native device
    -MUCH Apps support
    -Minimum 8MPs AutoFocus not EDoF

IF RIM DON'T PUT THIS ON THEIR BBX PHONES, THEY CAN'T COMPETE IN SMARTPHONES MARKET. REALLY.

    Awesome keyboard.
    Ability to swap batteries.
    BlackBerry secure.
    BBM
    NFC.
    3.7" screen or larger
BB Movies - with option for monthly subscription like Netflix that can stream from BBX phone or Playbook but a dollar less.
BBM Music - with ability to use one of these songs for ring tones.
My BlackBerry. Just love it, love it, love it.

    3.7 inch 1280 x 800 resolution screen. I want a phone, not a tablet in my pocket.

Slide out full qwerty keyboard like the torch which would mean I would want the phone to be a thick as the torch. That would make it durable for for the workplace, a nice big fat chunky 2000 battery.

Single core 2.3 ghz processor. Why would I want a Quad core processor, my laptop has one and the battery dies in like 3 hours. Imaging what a Quad core would do to a tiny innocent telephone battery.

16 gigs of memory, I have 9 gigs of music and 3 gigs of picture. 3 gigs would be dedicated specifically for apps.

1.5 gigs of ram (why not, the thing would start up bloody fast.

12 megapixel autofocus camera with zoom, face it, I don't use my expensive camera anymore. Torch does it now. Thisll have 1080 hd recording.

All the wonderful apps that come standard on a BlackBerry, gotta love calendar and memopad.

Usb charger at the bottum with the option for charging contacts.

Right side convenience key, volume rocker with mute

    lock button at the top

Headphone jack at the top, the one on my torch annoys me.

    Bright led

    Call/menu/trackpad/back/hangup keys

Two front facing speakers for stereo sound.

Black, Grey, White, Red, Pink and Silver colour options

Microsd slot that comes with an 8 gig card that apps can be installed to.

    Wireless syncing with BBDesktop.

    NFC it'll be useful someday

Bluetooth, gotta have my blue tooth

    Mobile hotspot

Why do people want more megapixels it does equate to a better picture in most cases on these smaller cellphone sensors it equals a worse image if RIM wanted to put more MP in there new phone cameras they would have to get a new camera to make sure it would still be producing good image quality.
