Default Should I upgrade to the 9900 or wait for BBX?

Hi,

Im due an upgrade on my Bold 9700 here in the UK.

I would need to take out 18month contract so my question is...

Do you think I should upgrade now or wait for a BBX device to come out? Im keen to get my hands on the 9900 but will be pissed if a BBX phone launches early in 2012 and I have to wait a year or more to get one.

Your thought please...

By the looks of it, RIM wont be releasing any BBX phones till at least 2nd quarter next year. By the time the bugs are worked out once the phone is released, it will be mid 2012. Get the 9900 and enjoy it for now.

QFT.

I just upgraded my 9700 to a 9900 yesterday, no regrets here!

How bad do you want the BBX phone? Bad enough to miss out on the 9900?

I can wait. Matter fact, I'd rather wait. I just want the goodness of BBX and not have to wait. Something that can compete with the iPhone and Androids. But I also want a keyboard.

So I'm most likely going to have to wait til a slider comes out.

But with this new theme I got on my 9700. I'm starting to love it again. So that can hold me over until BBX is unveiled/out.

Get a 9900. First BBX phone is very likely not going to have a physical keyboard. Yet the 9900 (and 9930) have probably the best physical keyboard ever placed on a phone.

I was in the same predictament and I opted to wait.

I was going to get the 9900 but the camera on it really turned me off (here's hoping they put the auto focus on their 2012 line). My Torch 9800 is doing it's job perfectly for me in the mean time.

You could compromise and buy a new Curve without a contract. That way you get an os7 device that is better than your current phone and still have your upgrade to use when BB10 hits the scene.

That's kinda the path that I'm following anyway.

I was tempted to upgrade my 9700 to a 9900 until I heard about the bricking problem with the 9900. I'll wait for a BB10 slider or go with a Droid 4 if the wait for a BB10 slider is too long.

Default Wait!

In my humble opinion, I'd wait a few months. By then, perhaps the iPhone 5 will be available and RIM will probably be out of business, or owned by another company. My contract is up in June, and that's what I hope to do.

I suggest waiting until ALL the bugs are out of the 9930, then upgrade. The BBX due date has been extended until....I have no freakin idea and neither does RIM

Yepp. I'd say upgrade to BB7 now.

By the time BB10 phones have the kinks ironed out. You'll be due for an upgrade again.
