They just need to change their mentality and stop being bottom feeders, if you are releasing a super phone catch up in some areas as a standard, what needs to be standard.
Auto focus (why not in your flagship device)
HD video recording (why is that not in the 9790)
front facing camera (no keyboard, so this is the multimedia phone....well give us media)
dual core( why, cuz QNX needs it to run smoothly
BB capability (MUST have email, bbm, calender out of the box no excuses)
4G* isn't necessary, as most companies have no full fledged 4G network, also BB is known for long battery (something the Bold isn't doing) this can be held off
2 convenience keys and short cuts for other things* the iphone did it right by having a dedicated camera button and having a dedicated way to take a screen shot on the phone at anytime. Have you ever had the screen muncher ap on your quick key, its nice isn't it? Too bad there is a watermark and you have no other quick key.
Now if you wanted to take a picture of a moment that JUST happened, for instance my friend got proposed to. I fumbled with my phone went to press the camera icon as I took the phone out of my pocket, the screen auto rotated, and I ended up pressing some other button, ended up having to close all that out and go back into media>camera and missed a few precious seconds of her moment. NOT a HUGE deal, but its something that can be avoided because more often people aren't carrying 500 dollar cameras on them, but just want decent pictures right away...is that too hard to ask? Forget all those filters and whatever, just let me access my camera quickly.
Hotspot* why add wifi hotspot capabilities in these updates? People just dont know about it, put this stuff in a device OUT OF THE BOX and hype it up on the commercial with the phone itself.
Trackpad* This is the media phone, so some may not want a trackpad, but I see no reason not to put it in (as long as it doesn't have that stupid hoovering problem like these phones have) because remember this is still a blackberry, we aren't trying to out iphone the iphone but give iphone users an alternative with a special blackberry twist.
