BlackBerry Bold R020 internal overview, replaces BlackBerry Bold 9700 « Boy Genius Report

I'm surprised that CB hasn't picked up on this story yet.

Not surprising from the folks at RIM; I'd love to see a solid refresh/redesign of the Bold line. Try though I might to adjust to a touchscreen keyboard, it just isn't my scene. The Torch would be nice (Thanks again K for the second contest) but I'm really an addict of the solid form factor of the Bold/Tour lines.

From these slides it seems there will be two models, one with the new 5MP camera and one without camera. First time I've seen that point ? Have they done this previously ?

From looking at the slides the only real difference I see between the 9780 and the 9650 (other than GSM/CDMA) is the 9780 comes with OS6 loaded and has a 5MP camera. Is that the only differences?

If so I'm guessing a CDMA version for the 9780 would be pointless just to upgrade to a 5MP camera and come preloaded with an OS that is supposed to be on the 9650 anyway.

Been done before. The 9650 is currently available in both camera and non camera versions. Some corporate environments don't allow cameras in them.
