BBX Device Mockup by Pootermobile

I was messing around with a design for what a BBX device would maybe look like, or what I'd like it to look like. If you guys have any ideas or input feel free to leave a comment and I can maybe add it to the design

i like it. Simple and elegant.

I'm not coming around to the look of the BB London concept leak. Call me boring but I'd rather have something like this, given the choice.

Its a phone, you hold it differently so too much bezel.
Reduce it and I think you'd be onto something.

Along with the look of the concept my thought of this BBX device would be bezel gestures, hence the larger bezel.

Personally...I'd like to see the 5 function buttons: send/menu/touch pad/back/end.

The image I posted is of course a first draft. I can add those buttons, I would want them on a BBX device too

Added call/menu/back/end button and the ear speaker mesh thing. Looks a bit better

I didn't add a trackpad yet because I like how it looks without it.

Yes - keep the same look/relationship of current buttons - connects to the legacy devices / keep the identity.

Especially with the trackpad!

Ok added the track pad and made a few small tweaks. Made the bezel smaller, I'd like to think that bezel gestures could be done within the screen itself

That looks really cool! I think it could be a little narrower but not too much...

Can you design another version that has a full kb?

Then you would have the two phones RIM should be making rather than 10 or 15 or whatever the current number is...

Perfect.
I don't know about the quoted aspect ratio and the one on there. It certainly looks quite wide.
BTW gestures need only a few millimetres of bezel to work.

Gonna make it not as wide also. It seems like people are split on the buttons and trackpad lol maybe have two different versions?

gotta say, i like that, it does very much remind me looks wise of the HTC HD2 with the buttons at the bottom being capacitive (ala galaxy nexus) on yours rather than real buttons like the HD2 had, which is no bad thing at all

Why don't go a step further and design the UI...but other than that looks really good.

Ok worked a bit on the first device, made it less wide and added a new device with no buttons. I've also "code named" the devices. The one with buttons is called FS-1 (FS for "flagship") and the one with no buttons is called Saber cause it sounds cool
