Default 9930 Info???

Ran across a sprint bb on phonearena.com labeled as the 9930 Bold. That stuff was posted in March and the phone looks VERY similar to the torch. Anyone have any more info??

Rumors say the 9900 became the 9800 so I would imagine any 9930 will now have become a 9830 and would be a CDMA Torch. Since ATT helped develop the phone, it may be a while (if ever) that you see a CDMA twin to the 9800. Something similar, maybe. Just too much up in the air at the moment.

Googled the 9830 and ran across this

BlackBerry Device Roundup: 9830 And 9930 On The Horizon From RIM? | GizmoFusion

It suggests the 9830 will be a storm 3 (not to be confused with the storm refresh 2.5). On phonearena they call the 9930 a bold so I'd guess they're different phones.

At sprint store today they suggested a torch-like device would be coming... Taken with grain of salt but I liked hearing that.

Nice find, but I don't see where is explicitly states that they are not talking about the refresh. Granted, you can guess that the 9930 number is a different device as we expect the refresh to hit as a 9570 or 9590. Still, if RIM really wants to make the refresh SEEM to be enough of an upgrade, they may depart from the 95xx numbers. Just thinking.

So I just got off the phone with rim due to a non related issue and managed to get this out of the guy I was talking to:

There is going to be a 9930 called the Bold
It will come out of the box with os 6
It is a "torch like device"
And it will be available for purchase "before the launch of the new year"

lol, i'm with ya... that means in like 3 months, we may have it...I can wait three months...just gonna keep replacing my faulty tours in the meantime. Definately not going to use my upgrade for a Bold just yet, unless it is confirmed that the Torch isn't coming. I definately want a phone that will support OS6 though soon...so, hopefully it will be the 9930...positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts.

Interesting. Nice to come to cb today and hear something about a new phone headed Verizon's way. The Torch on Verizon might make me consider ditching the Tour if it is LTE ready.

I am really wondering why RIM is being so quiet. With so many other smartphone options out there you have to be constantly making "noise" to stay relevant. Maybe RIM should take a page from Apple's playbook and leave a 4g bb on a subway right next to a tech blogger or something...

Damn, if that's the case, I have a NIB Bold sitting in my bedroom. I wonder if I should send it back or wait....

I hate touchscreen phones....

I just hope they up the battery on it. The 1150 can work on a gsm device....but get that baby on cdma and its dead quick. Just like the vzw pre vs the att pre.

I ran into Dan Hesse about a week ago, He said that there would be a new device in October, said it was not like a torch, but wouldn't give me much more info than that.
