8900 Successor?

Anything which looks like 8900 about to come?

I love the form factor and looks of 8900. Some people might say why not go for 9300. Primary reason which makes 9300 an inferior device is its low resolution and 2.0 mp camera.

Waiting for a device which looks like 8900, of course with trackpad and some other add-ons like 5.0 mp camera, faster processor etc.

If anyone has any info, please share.

How about 9700 or 9780?

The 9780 is the device you would be looking for.

The 9300 was meant as the successor of the 85xx series, not the 8900.

The 9780 isn't the successor
It has a completely different keyboard.
The 8900 had a successor for other markets, but basically the 8900 was a pilot device, the 8530 took points from the 8300 and the 8900 and mixed them, then the 9300 was the successor to the hybrid 8300/8900

I am using 9700 nowadays. It is a good phone. However, as I earlier said, for some reason I still like 8900 in terms of looks and built quality......minus the loose battery cover.

I am thinking to get 9780, but having second thoughts. It is not a major upgrade from 9700. Plus I heard there are still some software issues…. let see…..

8900 was my first BB, I don't think there will be a direct successor. It was basically the first of the "newer generation" of Berries, everything since has a had a similar form factor. It's also kind of an "in-betweener" device in terms of its features - it was a loaded Curve. Now they seem to be branding the Curve as more of an entry level device and the Bold as the top end devices. No room for an 8900 any more. Very solid phone & keyboard though.

I thought the 8980 was the successor.... but funny how it looks like a Bold 97xx...
