Default Would Rogers replace my BlackBerry?

Hey guys,

A friend of mine dropped his BlackBerry and now theres a crack on the flash screen. The trackpad was also loose before he dropped it. And he isn't happy with the battery life (he says it drains fast and has done multiple battery pulls)

He has 1 year warranty with Rogers, do you guys think they'll give him a new one or a refurb'd one?

Should he go to a Rogers store or call their customer service/retentions?

Not after the physical damage has been done to the screen. Maybe before, not now though.

FWIW, a broken screen is not manufactures defect.

Ya, most likely Rogers will not cover it...my cousin just got his iphone 3gs repaired through Rogers. $125 to replace cracked screen.

Go through the handset protection guarantee program... it may only cost you somewhere between $0-$35 through this program.. your friend that had his iphone repaired mustve used this program, its normally like $200+....

And not being happy with the battery life isn't a manufacturer's defect either.

if the battery life is consistently back and an back up and restore does not sole the problem, that the battery will be covered under manufactures defect warranty... cracked screen still nullifies the manufactures warranty though

Thanks for the replies!

He also says his 9780 often lags/freezes. Would that make a difference towards a replacement?

Thanks

Since there is a crack. They won't even consult about a replacement. If he left it out of the discussion (crack) with customer service when trying to get the replacement, if he gets the replacement he has to send his old one back and if they find the crack he pays full retail price on his next bill.

Best way is to try to get it covered under the handset protection guarantee from Rogers. Just get him to call Rogers and ask about the guarantee as his physical damaged phone no longer is covered under manufacturer's warranty
