Default what to do...

hello,

i've been with rogers for quite some time and bought a blackberry bold 9700 in the month of July, 2010. my phone recently started having problems. without dropping it, getting water-damaged, or any physical abuse, the screen stopped working. there is a black spot on the bottom right corner with vertical colored lines down the screen. i know this is an LCD problem but how can i get this fixed?

Be aware that if there actually IS damage, they may try to charge you the price of the replacement device.

Rogers now has the option to send out your blackberry or other smartphone device through the in-store program. Your best bet is to send it out for repair, that way if it is physical damage, you won't be charged the full outright cost of the phone.

If they deem it not to be physical damage then they will just fix it and ship it back to the store. If it was physical damage, then you can use your "Out Of Warranty" token to have Rogers subsidize the cost of the repair. Cracked LCD repairs usually only run about $30 if you use the OOW token.

If you do need to use the OOW contract, it will not renew your contract unless you have less than a year left on your contract. In that case, it will extend your contract out to a full year. Using the OOW program will not let you upgrade your phone for 6 months, but since you still have a month left on your warranty, i'm assuming you are only 11 months in. So your pretty much still 15 months away from being fully eligible anyway.

Sounds like physical damage from the description provided in the OP.
