Default URGENT - Need help

Hi,

I'm heading to Europe soon (Serbia&Bosnia) and i have a BB 9700 which is currently on a 3-yr plan and its almost been a year, I want to get this phone unlocked so i can use a sim card from over there. But i have a few questions, will unlocking my phone and using a different sim card affect my current plan or anything? or will it just be like normal and pay for the 2 months im away then when i get back just put in my Rogers sim again. Also where is the best place online quickly also the cheapest to get my phone unlocked.

If you know any other alternative ways to how i could use my phone in europe after unlocking it that would enable me to use some of my features bbm, twitter, facebook then please tell me as i am leaving in 2 days.

Thanks
Stojanovic,

Stojanovic-u,
Check mobile in canada.com for unlocking your bbry. They have a deal for $1. I just did mine yesterday.
Unlocking your phone does nothing with your plan or contract with Rogers. It will simply give you ability to use other SIM cards in your phone.
One your phone is unlocked and you are there, you can just buy any pre-paid sim cards and you will be able to use local number with local pricing. You will be able to use texting (SMS). I am not sure that you would be able to use internet though... as much as I remember you would need to have BIS provisioning on your (serbian) account in order to access internet.
Other option is to get a local (Serbian or Bosnian) plan that lets you use Blackberry service. when I was there 2 years ago, they only had post-paid plans... which means you had to buy voice and blackberry service from them and that was pretty expensive.
In other words, if you go there, and get yourself local number with blackberry service, all you need to do is pop in your new sim card and all your emails, bbm and everythng else will flow as if you are with Rogers sim card.

Other option is to get rogers data roaming plan which will cost you about $50 for 10 MB, and add voice roaming $20 for 15 min.

Hope this helps you a bit...
Cheers,
