Unlocked phone with Rogers (bell/telus/virgin etc)

quick question..i know when a BB is unlocked it will work on another carrier..but what i am concerned about (and i did read other related topics in the forums) is IF the phone is BRAND NEW out of the box lets say with Bell, unlocked and I register it etc etc with my rogers plan, do i need to have the pin/imei released? or is that if its a used phone and has a email attached to the device?

is it better to get a new one or are there problems abound with a used?

no, the only time you need to worry about releasing the PIN and IMEI is if you have it tied to an account on bell and you want to use it on rogers... thats the only reason, if you buy the phone NIB and walk out, unlock and use on rogers, you will have no issues
