Default Unlocked on Fido..

Figured this would be best fit here.

I just received my Bold 9900 from Rogers, I've unlocked it for use on Fido as I have done with my past phones over the years. This is my first BlackBerry and I'm having a little issue with setting up email.

When I use the email setup it demands an Enterprise Activation (of which I neither have, nor know of, any account details for this screen - email and activation password).

I'm curious if anyone is using Fido or knows how to bypass or fix this. From what I've gathered from numerous searching I either need to purchase one of the two BB add-on packages, or remove the IT policy but I don't want to jump into that and risk screwing something up.

I'd rather not purchase the add-on if I don't need to since I'm already very satisfied with my data plan and haven't had any issues with any other phones. It also seems pretty ridiculous to me that I would need that add-on just to access email (I know each package has another benefit, but I never go over my data as it is, I don't feel like that extra unlimited boost is necessary).

Can't post links, but you can find the BB add-ons thru the Fido website and removing the IT policy on blackberryfaq.

I believe with Fido you need to mention you are now using a Blackberry with a CSR. They will activate BIS on your service and should be free. You are probably on a smartphone data plan and not a blackberry data plan, they should be similar in price if not the same(I think it's a free add-on to add BIS). With the blackberry data plan, you can still swap out your sim card between blackberrys and other OS phones, the smartphone plan, you cannot without the BIS add-on or option.

Several iPhones and Androids in between.

I agree with what freethisberrydotcom posted.
You can contact Fido support and ask them to help you with this, that's what their support is for.
