...and the next sound you would hear would be the folks in western Canada unplugging from Telus.

Oh, come back BC Tel, Ed Tel and AGT - all is forgiven....

think about it this way if telus were to be sold. theres more of a chance that it would be bell looking to take it over due to the fact that theyy are partnered in many infrastructure projects. A purchase by rogers would put both companies in quite a pickle.

Telus won't be sold. If anything they would buy Bell, never the other way around. And certainly Telus will never allow itself to be bought out by Rogers

Also its not only a matter of if Telus would allow itself to be purchased, but CRTC and the government would never let it happen as it will create too large of a telecom company and would hold a demanding customer base over the other carriers

ha if thats the case, it'll just get ruled out with the damn Conservatives (aka Reform Party of Canada) like they did with Wind Mobile.

Actually, given its base of operations, Telus would more likely be taken over by Shaw rather than Rogers. If that was even in cards, which seems unlikely.

This whole convergence of services lark does not do any favours for the consumers as our media / technology is whittled down to fewer and fewer providers.

CRTC would have to approve it first and CRTC won't probably let it go in the first place. If it does get through you are right that the Conservatives will rule it out. We seriously need better political parties in Canada, cause NDP does **** and Liberal just tax Canadians heavily and spend so much, which brought Canada into huge debt in the first place
