tethering with blackberry

hi so i have the 50 smartphone plan i was wondering if i wanted to use my bb to tether with my lap top will it cost extra? sorry i looked on google but couldnt find a positive answer. also could anyone please explain hwo to do this without buying a program thanks

how much data does that give you? Tethering doesnt cost extra if you have 1gb or more. I'm about to leave the house so I can't look on the rogers site

I just went through this yesterday. I had the same plan, came to a cottage that has no wifi (even though they told us it did before we rented) and called rogers to deal with this exact situation. The $50 plan gives you 500mb (as you already know). $55 is the same plan but gives you 1gb and they enable tethering.

Once you add that all you need is the BB desktop manager on your comp and a USB cable to tether at no additional charge assuming you don't go through your 1gb data.
