Default Replacement Flip Phone

Hey everyone, just been trying to figure something out.
I am looking at grabbing a cheap flip phone, something that isn't on contract or anything like that. The reason being is, if I lose my 9810, if it gets damaged to a point where I can't use it, I would want that flip phone to be there for me to use.
Now what I am wondering:
Is this possible to do with Rogers? Can I use a temp flip phone while I am on a contract?
If so, what kind of phone does it have to be? Does it have to be on a certain network?
Any info would be appreciated. And any other tips would be nice.

I know folks that switch phones on a regular basis, and finding an inexpensive flip on craigslist or kijiji shouldn't be all that difficult to do. Good luck on your search, and I'll give some other folks a chance to give further advice on how that works in Canada.

I've done it before. I had my old Nokia when my first Bold decided to die on me, and it held me over until I picked up my second one later that day.

You should be fine, provided the phone is either locked to Rogers or unlocked from another carrier that is GSM and operates on the same frequencies as Rogers.

That actually kind of answers something I was wondering about. So I need a phone that would work on a GSM network right? Any other little things it would need to work with Rogers?
