Default Remove WhoCalled for $4 a month?

Read this on Torontoist (Pay Us More To Annoy You Less - Torontoist) where Rogers will now charge you $4/month to disable the "WhoCalled" feature that notifies you via SMS that you've missed a call and/or you have voice mail.

Rather than bitching about this, is there any way that you can block these messages (or any number for that matter) without going to Rogers? Some app or some setting on the BB that will filter out SMS's from specific numbers?

There is no cost to remove this service, it just doesn't save you anything by removing it.

I called in Friday last week actually and had them disable it for my GF, there was no issues or costs.

Yeah I don't see why it would cost more to remove it then to keep it, simply blocking a service doesn't mean you should incur higher charges?
It's like blocking internet. You shouldn't have to pay for a service if you're not using it.
