Poor Signal in Current Area

So after a housing replacement I came home to extremely poor signal, only GPRS, GSM and sometimes EDGE, as before I always got 3G and had signal in my basement now I have nothing. At first I thought it was the way the housing was done, but after leaving my house and area I started to get full bars with 3G, so I'm guessing there's a signal problem in my area, anyone else every experience this?

I always have poor signals in my home and office so I ended up switching my plan to a cheaper one and then adding unlimited local wifi calling so when I'm at home or at office on wifi, all calls go though wifi rather then Rogers network.

They offer wifi access for $5, still uses your minutes but as long as you are connected to wifi, clear signal all the time.

I took the $10 unlimited wifi which also comes with early evenings and weekdns starting at 5pm.
