Default Poor Rogers coverage affecting performance/enjoyment of my BB?

I've been a Rogers customers for about 3 years now... Had a 9000 > 9700 > 9800 > and now a 9780 (soon a new BB!).

Since I've had my 9780, my frustration with BB has grown steadily. I thought it was just my 9780 but I've been thinking more and more that it is Rogers and poor coverage affecting the performance of the phone.

Case in point, I'm currently setting up my Aunt's 9800 and she's on Telus. The performance of browsing and downloading is great, even with WiFi not connected and it reads full 3G coverage. On the other hand, my 9780 right beside it gets 1 small 3G coverage bar and my downloading is often pretty slow. Sometimes it is fast and I think 'wow, this great' and makes me think if it was always like that I would LOVE this phone a lot more... But 9/10 times I'm on the other end with crappy performance... slow to initiate calls, surf, whatever.

Unless the 9800's got a lot better since I had mine, I'm thinking it is time to jump from Rogers and go with Telus as I don't want my carrier coverage to affect my use and enjoyment of my BB since I've been wanting to jump ship from BB for a while now because it frustrates the Heck of out me.

And BTW, I'm on Ottawa, west end.

Anybody else have similar experience and improvement/enjoyment going to another carrier?
