Default Overpriced blackberries from rogers

I wanted to get a new blackberry, was looking at rogers site and saw an entry level blackberry pearl 3g cost 424.99(saving $395.00, original price is around $800), and a bold 9780 cost 499.99(saving $400.00). according to their advisement, a bold will cost nearly $900, u gotta be kidding me right? im wondering did they actually just put up these ridiculously numbers to convince people buy into their contracts? people are not stupid.
could anybody help me out? where is a good place to buy blackberries which relatively cheap price and will work on rogers network?

I think you are reading it wrong. The Bold 9780 is $99.99 on a 3 yr term, and $499.99 if you buy it outright. You save $400 if you sign a 3 yr contract.

You asked for a good place to buy Blackberries that would work on the Rogers network.

If you are VERY diligent I'd check out the ads on the Crackberry Marketplace, kijiji or on ebay. I've gotten a few phones on kijiji and ebay that were pretty good and I was quite satisfied. If you decide to go the kijiji route, check out the phone thoroughly! (make sure it wasn't opened, no water damage, can make a call, wifi works, etc, etc...)

Otherwise, feel free to buy a new phone from Rogers, Telus or Bell, you can always get the phone unlocked for free, or around 5$

I just can't imagine Rogers Wireless selling a whole lot of devices outright

TELUS Mobility 9100

Bell Mobility 9100

Rogers Wireless 9100

If you are looking for a new blackberry and do not want to get a used one from kijiji or ebay, check out puremobile.ca. They have fair prices on new blackberries

I noticed that they bumped up the price on all of their phones - 9780 $575, 9700 $500 -- I was debating selling my 8900 and upgrading for a minimal price, but its looking to be a lot more expensive than I thought to get the one I want (9780)
