OK
I installed 7.1.0.205 on my 9860.
So far so good!
I think I know why the Canadian carriers have not offered this up date.
I think one of the reasons might be the .com. Just a thought.

After patiently waiting for Rogers to release an official release of the OS 7.1 I cracked and did it myself. I'm very happy with the improvement that the phones battery's life has extended since the upgrade.

Well I am going on day 3 of loading the OS. So far browser is Alot smoother, key board is smoother, battery is a hole bunch better. I like the addition of the Blackberry Device Analyzer. Not quite sure how the Hotspot works? But over all the phone is smoother. I loved it before now it is WOW this is cool! lol

Rogers is a bunch of A$$E$!!

They have the update, since day 1!! Every carrier received it the same time.

Rogers just won't release it.

Call, they'll deny, or not comment, saying the manufacturer has to release it.

They NEVER offer updates on anything! They want you to get a new phone.
I had Windows Mobile, and Rogers never released any of the updates AND blocked windows update on the phone.

Does anyone know if the Telus. 267 is any different than the leaked. 267?
**EDIT Answer: Both the Bell and Telus .267 files are exactly the same. However, the original leaked .267 has less java files than the two.

Well, Bell and Telus have released the 7.1 update for the Scorch 9860, but not Rogers.

It's not coming.

Rogers are D!%K$ like that.

The Scorch 9860 has been removed from their BB Offer page (see link below)
http://www.rogers.com/web/link/wirel...al&N=52+11+278

My guess is it's due to the "freezing" / faulty battery issue that some (ME) Scorchers have encountered.

Plus, Rogers are D!%K$ like that.

The Rogers official 7.1 update will more than likely be offered to the existing BB7's on their page - IF - they decide to do it.

But, Rogers are D!%K$ like that.

So they probably won't get it too.

I'm installing the leaked .267 - because that's the version being approved by the other carriers.
Just deleting the Vendor.xml file...

BUT

I still VERY MUCH love the Scorch 9860!

lates,

Rogers will never release 7.1

When they have their number one competitor walk all over them with "Bell TV" and Rogers is still running with that monstrosity "Rogers Live", you know that they will never release a simple update.

What have the fine folks at Rogers been up to ? The brilliant minds over at Rogers gave us "Rogers One Number". What a total waste of freaking time that was developing that. How about, oh i dont know, ROGERS SPORTSNET LIVE !!!

I cant wait to jump ship and sign with Bell.

I don't know why people complain so much about it. Load the latest leak. If Rogers released 7.1.267 it is the exact same as the leak. Download the file, open AppLoader, Voila. If a new leak comes out, I'll load that one. It's not rocket science.

I think the reason why folks are so angry is the fact that Rogers drags their feet on everything. It's little things like this that push us over the edge.

Can someone post a link for 7.1.267? Crackberry doesn't have it listed anymore.

Spoke to a Rogers guy at the Backberry Innovation Forum in Toronto today. They were promoting WIFI calling and specifically said it didn't work on OS 7.0 devices. I dug into the guy and bit and got him to confirm that Rogers will be dropping 7.1 in Q2 (said he was already running it) and that it will have UMA and Mobile Hotspot enabled.
