Default need 3g rocketstick advice fast

Hey everyone,

Here is the problem. I am at a rented cottage for a week and they told us we had wifi, got here and we don't.

I need to get connected for work and need the best available option for Rogers.

Going to try and find a Rogers store and get a rocketstick (or whatever somebody can recommend). How much data will I go through loging onto my works vpn server and browsing sites I need to go to for work (simple text sites that pull text info on drivers info).

I have 500mb share ready on my plan.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

i doubt that much... but just keep in mind everytime u open a file or ping the server for a file the file gets re-downloaded... if it jsut simpel text files 500 mb should suffice.. but not sure exactly about ur situation.

fyi - you can pull your bb sim card and plug into rocket stick and it should still work. ie. you dont need to pay rogers extra to share your plan if you are ok with pulling your sim out of your bb to use on your rocketstick.

I ended up travelling 85km to find out they didn't have what I needed at Rogers store. Went to The Source and found a Bell 4G Rocket Stick. With no contract it cost $145 (cottage owners said they cover the cost).

Went with their data flex plan which starts at $35 for 500mb. If I go over that it will go to $45 up to 1GB and then $60 up to 5GB.

Works great, lightning quick and I'll be cancelling it after 30 days and keeping the stick in my laptop case for my next wifi emergency.

The data used seems to be pretty low. I've kept away from opening large emails on my work server unless I abolsutely have to.
