Thumbs down My Rogers Rant...

2 days before that 6gb for $30 promo ended, I called to add it to my account. The rep told me it was added and I was free to begin tethering and cranking through the data. Several weeks of tethering later, I logged into rogers.com only to find out I'm still on the 500MB plan! >:O

So I call and am told I'm SOL because that plan is no longer an option in the system - no matter how much I complain, it's not possible for anyone to add it to my account, not even a manager. Regardless, I wanted to lodge a formal complaint against this rep who outright lied to me (or was completely incompitent) and cost me this nice plan. The manager tells me she will pull the tapes of the conversation and listen to them and get back to me within 24-48 hours with a resolution.

Of course, no manager calls me back :\

After a couple weeks, I call back and am transferred to a very rude Manager. Now apparantly they CAN add this promo onto my account, but only if I commit to them for three f'n years! Shady! I am ready to commit for 3 years because I want the Torch, but am thinking Bell is looking pretty good right about now...

see ya Robbers... err... Rogers :P

I don't agree with some of Roger's tactics when it comes to dealing with customers, but it is clearly stated that the $30/6gb plan requires a 3-year data commitment. I don't think the reps can get around that stipulation in the system.

Actually it wasn't clearly stated. The first Rep that told me he added it to my account and promised me I could start tethering to my hearts content right away obviously didn't know about the necessary 3 year commitment. The 2 or 3 other Reps I talked to while trying to get this resolved also didn't mention the 3 year contract; what they did say is that it's no longer possible to add this to my account, which also turned out to be a lie. The first manager I spoke with never said a thing about it either. It wasn't until calling back and getting a second manager that I was informed of this... and what she said was "if you had tried to order it online, at the end, it would tell you a contract is necessary". Thanks for wasting my time Rogers.

Rogers customer service almost always neglects to tell their customers about the 3 year renewals over the phone. Anytime there is a promotional offer like a student plan or 6GB data plan or free 6pm, 99% of the time it will require a 3 year re-commitment.
