MMS problems with Bold...
So I have not been able to send MMS messages from my Bold recently and I called in to tech support @ Rogers to see if they could help. Tried everything... battery pull, reset, re-send service books, swap SIM card into different device to see if I could send MMS on there (which worked), and finally, OS reload. None of which worked. So midway through the OS reload the guy I am speaking with says he will call back in 10 minutes, never calls back. So I call back and explain and I go through the exact same stuff with the guy I speak with the second time around. Finally he says he "deleted" my account that has to do with MMS and picture messaging, not sure exactly what that is but Im sure they tell you stuff sometimes just because. Apparently takes 24 hours to "delete" and I can re register after the 24 hours by sending myself an MMS. Anybody else having these problems? I have a feeling the last thing the guy told me was just because they did not want to swap my device, as I am convinced that is the problem, considering sending MMS worked in other phones and other tests we tried...

I would honestly push for a device swap - I have never heard of a separate "account" solely for the purpose of sending/receiving mms.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you, but definitely push the device swap. Good luck!

i believe that rogers has an mms profile system where you are automatically considered to have a non mms device un till you send one your self. the system logs what kind of device you have and the limitation of it. so by deleting your account(profile) hopefully sending your self an MMS you can create a new MMS profile in the system.
i had the same issue on my bold with rogers i updated to the .162 beta it seem to fix my problem, hope that helpsLast edited by phomaniac; 10-07-2008 at 12:03 PM.

Ive tried and tried again, it still doesn't work and im waiting to hear back from tier 2 tech support with a solution. I had to downgrade my OS back to .125 because if they do want to do a hardware swap Im pretty sure it isn't going to look good if I'm using an OS that Rogers has not even released yet...

Bolds might be on back order for you but my Rogers store has lots....
As for my issue tier 2 tech support called today and told me there is an issue as many other cases similar to mine have been reported. From what he tells me Rogers is working with RIM to resolve the issue, and I will be contacted when they come up with a solution. He told me that the Bold is the only BB which has 2 service books for MMS and this may have something to do with the issue, I don't remember what I had for MMS service books on my Curve but I know my Bold has the Rogers MMS (WAP) book, AND the MMS Client 1.2, maybe someone with a non Bold Rogers device can confirm they only have one of these service books... I don't know what is going on, I guess i'll wait and see what the problem is. - 10-08-2008, 08:32 PM

Maybe cause you have the Bold too? I said the Bold has both of those service books, older models only have one. Unless you actually have a Bold Curve AND Pearl....

sorry, if i came off sounding like an a** i apologize ..... i do have all three.... im just saying that i had the same problem you had when i first got the device how ever since updating to .162 problem resolved. now as a rogers blackberry tech support i cant really tell customers that even if it is found to be the fix and cant even hint beta firmwares at all only what rogers provides. have you tried upgrading the firmware?

I was running .147 before when I was initially experiencing the problem, reloaded the current Rogers OS still having the problem, don't really care to upgrade the OS again... I'm gonna see if Rogers fixes this, if not, replace my device.
