| | Mad @ Rogers - extended contract w/o my permission
I got a real nice offer from Bell at my workplace, so I called Rogers and said would like to cancel the contract.
As usual, they offered a good plan to counter it. I liked it and took it.
It was like $63 including tax:
350 weekday minutes
unlimited incoming
unlimited network calling
My 5
500MB data
Call display
Early evening @6pm and evening
2500 txt msgs
A few days later, I check out the website, and it says the contract expires in November, 2013. Originally, it was September, 2012!!!
There was absolutely NO mentioning of extended contract or anything even if I talked to two retention representatives.
I call, and this mean lady says it's automatic. If I take any offer from their representatives there always will be contract extension. Basically they extended the contract w/o my permission.
I got so mad and complained. She says she will make a special exception for me....SAME plan and no extended contract....I was a little relieved.
Before I hung up, just to make sure, I asked to go over the plan I will get.
It was DIFFERENT!
NO unlimited incoming
NO unlimited network calling
NO My 5
Rogers tried to fake AGAIN.
So for $63 per month no extended contract I would get
350 weekday minutes
500MB data
Call display
Early evening @6pm and evening
2500 txt msgs
Is this a decent plan or what. The offer from Bell was WAY BETTER but the offer expired a few days ago already - thx to Rogers. Maybe I should sue them or something.....
What shall I do here? I'm really pissed. Any advice plz....

Call Bell, explain your situation... they should be able to make it work for you!
Then call Rogers and cancel your line since your contract is no longer extended.
The Bell deal is way better.

You want Rog to honour the verbal contract you recall having entered.
Once you realize that Rog records all calls the path is clear. You will instruct Rog to review the call and for them to implement what was agreed during that call, and nothing more (or you'll end up filing a complaint with the CCTS instead).
How to get the recording reviewed: s://RogersWatch.wordpress.com/Recording
If you encounter difficulty from Rog you might have to escalate. Here's the complaint-escalation flowchart: s://RogersWatch.wordpress.com/Complaint
OoP number on that doc is outdated, if needed use the one on: s://RogersWatch.wordpress.com/Contact
Good luck, stand your ground, get what you agreed upon during the initial call.

What the heck are you talking about.. I was with bell for 12 years, rogers offerd me a better deal, being the nice guy that I am I called bell and told them the situation, they couldent match it and what they has that was close to the rogers home phone plan was an extra 10 buck a month. now lets think why the **** would I pay more if rogers is cheaper, and considering I was with bell for over 12 years, Bell is absolutely crap, Iam not saying rogers is wonderful but at least when your talking to someone you can understand them and they do what their asked, Bell just hires refuges that have absolutely no people skills or work experience, it seems like their work force was picked right of the incoming refuge ships, I pay for service and I expect service, Bell is absoloutly useless, its like talking to a wall, they have a script and thats all they know, just like a donkey, you teach it one thing and thats all its knows, no outside of the box thinking from bell.
zero service
crap prices
crap warranty
horrible unqualified work force

horrible unqualified work force | For $55 + tax; I have with Bell:
200 Local Minutes
Unlim Evenings and Weekends from 6
Unlim Incoming
Call Display
Voicemail
6GB Data
Fab 5
They are decent especially within the past few years
I do agree that after a while the reps on the phone from overseas do get on my nerves cause they dont know what they are talking about half the time, but that is usually only tech support. Billing and Retentions have been giving features away left and right without much negotiations.

horrible unqualified work force | I agree 100% Bell is the WORST company ever to deal with. I was with them for the past 10 years and the staff is awful, you will not get a better deal and the worst part is their terrible hardware upgrade policy.
Run from Bell and fast!

Run from Bell and fast! | Bell used to be the worst, but they have made improvements to their service and retention offers...Telus is now the worst when it comes to customer service.

you guys gotta be kidding me, bell? you all should know rogers has the worst customer service ever. they screwed me over enough times with contract or phone bill. im tired of hearing their excuses of the mistakes were done by new employee. every time i ask to speak my situation to the manager, they always put me on hold for an hour. and only less than half of the time the issue will get solved, of course the pay off is 2 hours on the phone. and if they cant solve the issue, they will simply blaming it on their company policy.

Its funny cause since I stopped using bell they have been mailing me at least once a week their crappy offers and getting they unqualified workforce from India to call me to try to sell a product.
Iam not racist but Bell if your reading this how bout you get something to call me from Canada with proper English speaking skills that can answer questions off the script, your workforce are like robots, they only go by the script, its like talking to a wall.
Your outsourcing penny pinching strategies have actually lost you money not gained money.
