Long distance and incoming calls
What is the best solution to keep costs to a minimum?
My husband is going to have a lot of long distance and incoming calls from OUTSIDE his my5 and area code (647)because of his business. What is the best option to try and reduce the overall cost? - 09-07-2008, 02:41 PM #4
I can not deal with Canadian cell phone long distance charges so i use a third party, worldline.ca; 15 a month unlimited North America calling...i hear a lot of carriers in Canada charge you ld if someone calls your phone but i never had that with Rogers, maybe i'm on a diff. plan than everyone else

Call Rogers retentions, you can get 1000 Cdn LD minutes for $5 and possible to get a credit for the $5 too so cost would be zero

I had that but now its missing off my plan. Must look again to see when it dissapeared. I know it was still there in Feb.....
Retention has been good to me lately so I better not call for at least a month or so. - 09-07-2008, 08:55 PM #8
Wasn't there another third-party service last year that worked with My5 and Free incoming plans? For like 10$ a month you could get unlimited canada-wide long distance...I'm looking for it but I can't find it!

Can't find it to save my life. BTW- anyone know if incoming calls are for only local calls only?

Unlimited incoming works only when you are in your home area, but covers all incoming long distance calls too (i.e. home area is Toronto, you are in Toronto, receive call from someone in Ottawa, it's covered). However, unlimited incoming does NOT cover when you are out of your home area. Regular long distance rules still apply.
250 DAY, 100 CDN LD, U/L E/W 6PM, UIC, MY5 CAN-WIDE, VM, CID, 125 SMS, R2R SMS, 500MB BB = $34.45 + TAX - 09-22-2008, 09:50 AM #12
Aha! Makes sense now. The rep basically said the same thing only in a very convoluted way. Thanky for clearing that up.
