Hardware Upgrade Backorder - BB Z10
Today I got the dreaded "Your hardware is on backorder" email from Rogers for my new z10. This is from an upgrade (not early reservation).
Just wondering if anyone else who has upgraded received the backorder email, and if so, how long have you been on back order or how long did it take for your z10 to ship?
I'm not too worried, I can be patient and wait, just wondering how long I'll have to be patient for

Absolutely. I guess I'll just have to spend a few more days being patient and watching reviews/unboxing videos on youtube

I got it too this morning. I don't think I can go through a store, got retentions to waive my early upgrade fee.

If you go through a store, they charge you the full upgrade price and it goes right on your account. You then have to call in and have the deductions/discounts applied. It's essentially the same thing as doing it with Rogers, except if you find somewhere that has stock you can pick one up without waiting...

Did you call Rogers first and tell them you were just picking it up?

Im gonna do that as well. but i called in three times this morning, twice they hung up, third time some guy picks up and said I have to wait for the device and cannot pick one up from the store.

Unfortunately I can't go through the store. They waived a lot of upgrade fees (due to a mistake) and the next bill is going to be so messed up with charges followed by the credits that I really don't want to make any more changes because I'm sure something will go wrong. I guess I'll just have to wait

I heard from somebody that they automatically send out the back order email if your phone hasn't shipped within 2-3 business days and could just mean that it hasn't been shipped yet (meaning it will be soon) rather then a long... long wait. - 02-11-2013, 01:15 PM #15

I'm not sure. I went to a store, all was good. I literally walked in, did the upgrade, walked out, then called rogers to apply the discounts and cancel the hardware order. Took maybe 10 mins and everyone was more then happy to facilitate my requests.
I guess it could depend on the specific store, but that was my experience.

Just got the email sayng my Z10 has been shipped!! So at 1:45am it was on backorder and shipped by 3pm the same day. This means (I think) that the backorder email is automatic and sent if your order hasn't been shipped within 2-3 days rather then them actually being on backorder.

darn i should of checked but I got my phone at the store at 2pm. i called in and they said they can still apply the discount credits within the next 2 bills. going to call up again to double check

I think they can do the discounts if you buy at store and then call. In my case, they added all the discounts and offered me a great price plan while I was ordering on phone. Somebody said to cancel and just go to the store, get it and then call, but I don't want them reversing everything they already did and then starting over.
Luckily the backorder email only lasted a few hours and BB shipped today

just got an email saying my Z10 has been shipped!! ETA of Thursday the 14th!!
