Default Early upgrade with Rogers Question

So I was wondering what it will cost me to upgrade to the Bold after my initial 12 months are over. I recall when I first got my curve, the service rep said that with rogers, after 1 yr, you can upgrade to a new phone at the advertised 3 yr price + $100. Some companies also give extra credit with the Data plan. I have the $30 6 gig data plan, and my total bill is roughly $75 per month. So if the Bold is advertised at $299 on 3 yr, would I pay $399 or more or less? Any Rogers Employee out there that can clear the muddy water for me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am not a Rogers Employee but I am 99.99% sure you can get the Bold for $299.

Just call retentions if all else fails.

well, the basic pricing is promo price + $100... so theoretically you are correct about the pricing... but I will say this, wait a bit, just a trust me, don't upgrade just yet.

but do call in and ask the what your upgrade eligibility is.

Hmm.. why not just call Rogers (its a free call) and ask what your price would be. No pressure to purchase + 100% correct answer = better than waiting for a guess online.

    Wink Brand new bold pricing

Hot off my price sheet, BB9000R for promo price 199.99 corp and 249.99 regular consumer then you have your mail in rebate. To get this promo price your voice (price plane) and data must add up to 45.00 on 3 year terms. Did three upgrades today to bolds for that price. BTW, BB8220 are at the stores but not entered into the system yet so don't flock to get then just yet.

not sure what company you are on but rogers is awful with getting there plans and financing correctly from the first call to CS they usually quote you wrong and you get your bill and its double the price
at times they can barely read what their flyers say

so make sure if you call speak to a supervisor or retensions skip the first guy

also back to the first part sometimes you will get really stupid people (I got one of these) who quoted me the financing price for the bold was 199.99 when it first came out (was really 399) and I got it for 199.99 so I probably shouldn't be complaining

The truth is asking for a supervisor most times will not change things as the rep will have the correct info already or have asked their support for assistance so the supervisor will just agree with what the rep has already said. remember the rep is just going by floor policy which the supervisors set. I've seen the offers retention makes and know the extra time your own the phone to get to them, waist of time if you ask me. Let the reps do their job and please don't ask stupid questions like "I've been with rogers for a long time and I thing they should give me a free Iphone or Bold just because I'm me" Yes people do ask that question. Does the Bank give you a month free on your mortgage? Does the gas station give you a free tank every year or two? Why would any business give you free product? Rogers employees do want to help customers but if an customer comes on the line rude and abusive do you really thing we will try that hard for them? Would YOU?

I've only been a new customer on Rogers for 9 months.

Called retentions, and got the bold for $299, then called back to just regular customer service and got the $100 credit after the price dropped to $199.

They let me upgrade before I was eligible, and I'm haven't even been with Rogers for that long.

i personally got a BB 3 months into a contract for my wife, just told them that I had a blackberry with telus and they were going to offer me one for free if i brought her over from rogers, but told them i didn't mind paying something for the device but was really unhappy with mine. You can also say "work would like you to get a blackberry" that sometimes works. Its really up to you.

Obviously being rude isn't going to get you anywhere but I don't see why they can't absolutely do anything for you if you've been with them for over 10 years and have other services with them. It's ridiculous that being with a company for over 10 years really gets you no where and you have to waste time calling and bargaining over and over again to actually get what you want - within reason.
