Curve vs Bold
I need a cost benefit analysis and some opinions:
A Curve for $149.99 or a Bold for $399.99?
I think that I might have to go with the Curve since it's half the price....but it's hurting me to make that choice...What does everyone think??? - 08-25-2008, 10:00 PM #3
But . . . what makes it worth the extra $250? It has a full keyboard like the curve, gets push email, has a calendar, the same applications . . . . it's pretty much the same form factor, actually a little bigger . . . . the only thing I can see is a screen with crisper resolution. But is that worth the cash?
I guess it depends what you're doing on it though. Me . . . I use it as a phone, and to read and send emails . . . maybe a quick round of brickbreaker if I've got a minute to kill.
How would the Bold help me do that better? - 08-25-2008, 10:08 PM #4
you would see brick breaker most clearer..
It's you money bro. no matter what you will love what ever you get... As long as it's a blackberry!
Good luck.

If you don't need to have the latest and greatest just get the curve. I have one and I love it. You can always get a bold later on when the price goes down. All bb's do the same thing jus about and like it was mentioned earlier just as long as its a bb you're good to go lol
Men can have the most beautiful woman their money can afford. Women can have the most richest man their looks can attract.

I just upgraded to the Bold. I'd suggest the Bold, don't get me wrong, the Curve is a GREAT phone, but the BOLD is even GREATER!
- crisper screen
- much faster processor (used to see the hourglass all the time on my Curve, especially when doing 2-3 things at once)
- much faster browsing on 3G
- better camera
- Wifi + GPS (I think the Curve does one or the other?)
Considering you're giong to spend money on the Curve anyway, i'd suggest the BOLD.StikiGreenZ - BlackBerry BOLD 9900, BlackBerry Playbook - 08-26-2008, 07:39 AM #7
Agree with StikiGreenZ. Those features make the Bold a better device.
Everyone has its own favorite feature, for me is the processor (624Mhz). You can add the 1Gb of memmory, this will help your phone run better. And the support a MicroSD up to 32Gb (trust me, that is something).

I love my Curve but I must say hubby's new Bold blows me away with its speed and screen!! Even watched Jeff Dunham on youtube. Internet was MUCH faster!
For basic use, I like my curve better. If you want to get inot using word/excel docs, get the Bold.
Try and think of what you may want to do with your phone long-term. - 09-07-2008, 12:14 PM #10
The Curve is free on a 3 year plan at The Source By CircuitCity
.
Wireless Wave and the Rogers outlet had them on for 149.99-199.99 on a 3 year contract.
So if it is saving you are after ....
But if you really want a Bold Rather than wait for the next BB's I think I saw a promotion for the Bold at a $50 lower price, still on a 3 year though.
Can't wait for new carriers and a little competition in this market, talk to wireless users elsewhere and find out how bad we get the shaft on our "good" deals here. - 10-29-2008, 01:44 PM #11
hmorneau, THANK YOU! This is what I've been waiting for. Just got my first BlackBerry (Curve) about 3 weeks ago. Went with the BlackBerry rather than the iPhone - YAY. Love the phone. HATE the keyboard. Went to my AT&T guy...LOVE him by the way - still have until November 9th to return the Curve - holding out for the Bold - just for the keyboard - worth the money if you ask me. I can't believe I am saying that.
