Default Consumer Reports (Jan 2011) - Rogers fails

So the annual ratings are out for wireless providers and Rogers is near the bottom of the heap. Again. Beat out for last by Bell.

Granted, this is far from scientific - the results are from 'real use' readers of Consumer Reports only - but still, its worth noting, even if no great surprise.

The ratings in order are SaskTel, Virgin, Fido, Telus, MTS, Rogers and Bell.

Note the 'newcomers' aren't included, but that may change with more users and churn in the next year. At the moment though, it doesn't appear they've made a dent.

While none of the incumbents' ratings show much of a difference between them when it comes to the actual use of wireless device (and really, there's no reason why there should be a difference), where the top providers scored higher was at maintaining Customer Satisfaction and Support.
Which begs the question, why aren't those at the bottom of the pile taking lessons from those companies they own at the top?

Still, at least Rogers proves consistent from one year to the next...

Not surprised that Rogers and Bell are both at the bottom of the list. Bell has had the most customer complaints in 2010 followed by Rogers. They are starting to get better in customer service at least somewhat. Been with all three major carriers and Canada and they all suck, but if I would rank the the carriers I probably would put Telus last cause they are pathetic in terms of CS in any instance that I have ever dealt with them regardless of mobility, residential or business services. At least Rogers and Bell is more concerned with customer loyalty and retention and would through discounts at their customers intention of keeping them. With Telus they could care less, they've actually told me to go to **** before when asking for a 10% discount a month after having all my services with them for 4.5 years. This was after 4.5 years still paying market price without any promos

Just purchased a cell phone without a contract or plan from Bell. +$300 & almost a total of 2 hours on hold. I should be receiving a "working" unit next week.

Yeah but they need to start to use call centers in Canada for tech support which they don't

I'm not surprised to see Bell there in last place.

Still, second to last for Rogers is damning with very faint praise indeed...
