you can add just the 500mb data to your plane for $20 a month as a stand alone add on.

i just called up and added it for a friend of mine with a 9000.

Rogers offers 500mb data (which includes BIS service) for $25 + a voice plan. If you currently don't have a plan with Rogers and you're starting out new, probably won't get much from retentions department.

You can also do a voice/data combo plan. They start at $40. The $40 plan only includes 100mb data though.

The cheapest with 500mb data would be $50 and includes:

500mb data (share ready in case you ever want to get a tablet)
200 weekday minutes
unlimited after 9pm evenings and weekends

and your choice of one of the following:
•UNLIMITED Messaging2
•UNLIMITED MY5 Canada-wide Talk & Messaging4
•UNLIMITED Local Network Calling5
•Double Your Minutes9
•6 pm Early Evening Calling

The only problem is you don't get voice mail, text messaging, call display, etc.
To add them will probably cost you another $20 for their smartphone value pack.

So, to sum up... voice, data and value pack would cost you $70/month plus tax.

Or.....

If you already have a voice plan and are looking to not spend more than $40 for data, get Rogers data value pack.
$40 gets you:
500mb data
unlimited text messaging
voice mail
call display
etc...

If you get a socialite plan, make sure you know the limits that it has, it's not full BIS service.

What is a socialite plan?

Rogers offers BIS service and the only limit I think is your data limit (500mb) before you get charged and that's difficult to do just by checking emails.

It's Pay As You Go.
Two of the plans just include BBM, and nothing else.
The other two have BBM, and acess to "Unlimited Instant Messaging and choice of: Unlimited Personal Email OR Unlimited Social Networking to Popular Sites".

They start at $30 and go up to $55.

Ya, you're right, you have to be careful with your limits on those plans.
